KAKAK and the Frankfurt Book Fair

The Frankfurt Book Fair is happening in October, and I'm pleased to announce that my short story KAKAK, about an android maid in Kuala Lumpur of the near future, is being featured in The First Five, an anthology by Singapore's  Ethos Books. The First Five is a collection of poetry and fiction from around Southeast Asia, and also features the names of local heavyweights like Bernice Chauly and Jerome Kugan.

KAKAK was originally published in Cyberpunk: Malaysia, published by Fixi Novo and edited by Zen Cho. I wrote it in the fall of 2014 in a basement in Edmonton, where it got so cold that ice formed on the windows when temperatures dipped. Of all my stories I enjoyed the ending of this one best of all, and it is wonderful to see it given a second lease of life, especially since Cyberpunk: Malaysia is now out of print.

Do buy a copy, and if you are in Germany do pay a visit to the festival! Diverse literature is more important now than ever before, especially in what is proving to be a confusing world.

The collection also features the following works:
